Awards
Our Research Travel Grants are paid as reimbursement based on receipt documentation for personal expenses after completion of the research visit. The recipient will receive a check by mail or direct deposit after submission of original receipts and other required documentation. International visitors are responsible for obtaining the appropriate visa for their research travel. Support for the Research Travel Grants comes from the Hilda Bentley Local History Fund, designed to promote publications, special projects, and lectures that promote, preserve, and enhance the study of urban and local history.
Research Travel Grants may reimburse:
- Transportation expenses (including air, train, or bus ticket charges);
- Car rental, personal vehicle mileage, parking fees, ride share/taxi services;
- Accommodations;
- Meals; and
- Child or dependent care.
Reporting Requirements
Recipients will share their work with the university community through an open presentation, blog post or other agreed-upon means within the 12 months of the fiscal year following the successful notification of the award. Recipients must also acknowledge support of the CAC Research Travel Grant in any work resulting from funding and donate copies to the CAC of any projects produced through travel grant funding.
