The Browne Popular Culture Library (BPCL) joins efforts to digitize dime novels as part of National Endowment for the Humanities grant project coordinated by Falvey Memorial Library at Villanova University.

The BPCL is in the process of digitizing some of the story papers in the collection that will be cataloged into the dimenovels.org site.

Dime novels appropriately named for adventure and romance tales began during the late 19th century costing 10 cents or less. The grant awarded to this project aims to catalog and digitize a collection of more than 4,400 volumes of dime novels. Data entry for these story papers is ongoing.

Background on the Dime Novel Bibliography project can be found by reading a piece published by the Wall Street Journal.
