Annual Increases for Staff
The Board of Trustees has approved an increase effective September 1st for BGSU staff employees in recognition of your hard work and commitment to creating public good. These increases will be applied to eligible staff members' salary/hourly rate. Guidelines for these increase are outlined below.
Eligibility requirements include:
- Administrative staff must have a start date prior to July 1st
- Classified staff must have an overall rating on their annual performance review over 2.0
- Administrative staff who receive an increase on or after July 1st are not eligible
- Some employees with a contract (i.e. athletic coaches) may be ineligible based on the compensation clause of their contract
- Employees who are paid on a grant are ineligible if increases are prohibited by the grant
- Employees in a bargaining unit will receive increases based on their collective bargaining agreement
Treatment of Out-of-Range Pay
- A staff member’s base pay may not normally exceed the maximum of the pay range for the job. In instances where a classified staff member has reached the maximum of the pay range, they may be eligible to receive an annual lump sum payment equal to the amount of the across-the-board increase approved by the Board of Trustees when their individual performance level is at an acceptable level of 2.0 or higher. The staff members’ base pay will not change. Annual lump sum payments must be approved by the Chief Human Resources Officer.
