Amber Copa earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from The University of Toledo and participated in the University Partnership Program (UPP), which allowed her to pursue her interest in child welfare. Ms. Copa earned a Master of Social Work degree from Eastern Michigan University, with a specialization in mental health and substance abuse disorders. She spent nearly a decade working as a social worker in various positions within the child welfare system and has clinical experience with family systems, complex trauma, child development, child safety, legal complexities, substance abuse, domestic violence, mental health, foster care, and adoption. Ms. Copa is a licensed social worker and a certified adoption assessor. She is also a member of Northern Ohio Regional Efforts Aimed to Combat Human Trafficking (REACH). Ms. Copa is the program coordinator for the University Partnership Program (UPP) which helps prepare students for careers child welfare
