Dr. Lori Brusman Lovins received her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice in 2012 from the University of Cincinnati.  She joined the faculty of BGSU in 2020, teaching 5 years prior at University of Houston-Downtown.  Her research interests include evidence-based correctional programming, program implementation, and how the system treats specialized populations such as justice-involved juveniles, females, and those with substance use, mental health, or sexual behavior problems.  Dr. Lovins also has a Master’s Degree in Social Work and has worked over 25 years in the field of corrections as a practitioner, administrator, researcher, educator, and consultant.  Dr. Lovins has published in journals such as Justice Quarterly, Journal of Offender Rehabilitation, Federal Probation, and Victims & Offenders.
