Graduate Certificate in French for Professionals and Educators

The graduate-level certificate in French for Professionals and Educators meets the needs of professionals, such as French teachers who require graduate credits for certification as well as the needs of members of international organizations and of the business community with ties to a French-speaking country. The program is designed to enhance students’ linguistic ability in French, improve their intercultural communication skills, and their ability to perform professional functions abroad. The program accommodates different specializations within the context of foreign language learning by allowing students to pursue a research area in a related field such as tourism, business, history, communication studies, political science, or pedagogy. This is a stand-alone certificate program, but can be pursued in conjunction with an M.A. or Ph.D program. A study abroad program during the summer is highly encouraged.
