Master of Public Administration (Archived 2016-17 Graduate Catalog)
The Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree is offered in the Department of Political Science. The master’s program in Public Administration is designed to meet the increasing demand for skilled public administrators by providing professional education to individuals who wish to prepare themselves for administrative careers and leadership positions in government. While the majority of graduates may take positions in municipal, state, and federal government, the degree program can also lead to service in other organizations associated with government affairs such as private foundations, nonprofit service agencies,
political organizations, and other community institutions. Graduates also take positions in the private sector. A detailed description of the master’s program in Public Administration is found under the heading of Political Science in the Graduate Programs Offered section of this catalog.
