Renee Birnbaum, JD
Dr. Renee Birnbaum is an Assistant Teaching Professor-Legal Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences Political Science Department and in the Schmidthorst College of Business. She is the Faculty Pre-Law Advisor and Law Society Advisor. Dr. Birnbaum teaches law and legal skills and business courses. She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and received her law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. She was in private practice in Toledo, Ohio, and a partner with the law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick and a trial attorney at Garan Lucow Miller in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Birnbaum was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Law at The University of Michigan Law School where she taught in the Legal Skills/Legal Practice and LL.M programs. She also taught Legal Writing and Academic Presentations at the University of Michigan's English Language Institute. She is the recipient of several teaching awards and member of Phi Beta Kappa.
