Keynote Speaker

Thomas-Tobin

Thomas J. Tobin is a founding member of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Teaching, Learning, & Mentoring (CTLM), as well as an internationally recognized scholar, author, and speaker on quality in technology-mediated education, especially copyright, teaching evaluation, academic integrity, and accessibility/universal design for learning.

He holds master’s and Ph.D. degrees in English literature, a master’s degree in information science, and certifications in project management (PMP), online teaching (MOT), Quality Matters (QM), and accessibility (CPACC) He recently completed the Penn State Academic Leadership Academy.

Named to Ed Tech Magazine’s 2020 “Dean’s List” of Educational Technology Influencers, Tom serves on the editorial boards of InSight: A Journal of Scholarly Teaching and the Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration.

His books include

Faculty Associate Panel

Allison-Goedde-Web

Dr. Allison Goedde serves as the program coordinator, lecturer, and advisor for the classroom technology master's degree program at Bowling Green State University. She earned her doctorate in Educational Administration and Supervision in 2006 from BGSU with an emphasis on educational administration and professional development with technology. She has been teaching in the BGSU School of Teaching and Learning for the past 8 years. Currently she is advisor for BGSU chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). Prior to becoming instructor with BGSU, she was associate director of professional development with Northwest Ohio Educational Technology Foundation located at WBGU. In addition, she has been a pioneer in the practices of online teaching and learning for teacher professional development and student engagement since 2004, and has earned Quality Matters rubric training with experiences as a course reviewer. Research interests include the alignment of higher order thinking skills and pedagogical practices with technology.

Robyn-Miller-Web

Robyn Miller is a faculty member in the School of Teaching and Learning. She has been a faculty member here at BGSU in 2010. She has been involved in developing many different types of courses both face to face and online during her tenure at BGSU. She has also created several workshops for the CFE in the areas of multimedia development, website development, and gamification. She is also currently the lead faculty in the EDTL 2300 Educational Technology course as well as a faculty member in the Classroom Technology Master's degree major. Robyn holds a BA in Business, MA in Counseling, and Ed.S in Leadership as well as a PH.D in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Educational Technology. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. 

Patrick-Lisk

Patrick Lisk has served as an IT Manager at BGSU for eight years and currently teaches Information Systems within the Schmidthorst College of Business. He has presented for the Ohio Inter-University Council, at the TeamDynamix User Conference, and for the Center for Faculty Excellence Teaching and Learning Summit. He holds certifications in IT Service Management, Project Management, and was a member of the BGSU Leadership Academy 2015 cohort. He received a Master's of Education in Learning Design from Bowling Green State University. 

Schnepp

Dr. Jerry Schnepp is a technologist, designer, and creative problem-solver. He is an Associate Professor of Visual Communication Technology in the College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering at Bowling Green State University. He teaches courses in Interactive Media, Usability, User Experience, and Digital Photography. He was also the founding director of the Collab Lab: a hands-on, creative space for students and faculty to engage in collaborative work. Dr. Schnepp earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from DePaul University. His research efforts are directed in several areas: STEM Education, Learner Experience Design, Technology for Online Assessment, Interactive Mobile Learning, Innovative Interfaces, and Computerized Sign Language Synthesis. He has developed and evaluated software to help educators be more effective and students to engage in deep learning activities. He regularly collaborates on projects involving cutting-edge technology and new applications. He is the recipient of the 2018 Elliott L Blinn Award for his work supporting undergraduate research and creative work and the 2018 Faculty Excellence Award from the Association of Technology Management and Applied Engineering.

Laura is an Assistant Professor and the Interim Library Instruction Coordinator in the Library Teaching & Learning Department at Jerome Library. She collaborates with the School of Art, the English Department, and the School of Family and Consumer Sciences to teach information literacy and research skills to BGSU students and supports faculty and graduate research in those areas. Her research interests include applying Instructional Design and Scholarship of Teaching & Learning principles to information literacy instruction. She has published in the Journal of Media Management and College & Research Libraries News and presented at the Illinois Information Literacy Summit, the Georgia International Conference on Information Literacy, and the Tennessee Library Annual Conference. She currently serves as Secretary for the Academic Library Association of Ohio and an alumni mentor for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign iSchool.
