Approximately 8,700 students participated in service-learning and/or community service projects last year.

BGSU's team placed second in the world at the International Institute for Business Development's Case Competition in Hong Kong in 2010 – the only U.S. team invited to compete in the final round.

During its first two years, The Hatch, has committed more than $350,000 to student businesses. This Schmidthorst College of Business competition is similar to the popular show, Shark Tank, and is the only university program of its kind in the country.

Alesia Hill, journalism major, was the only student in the U.S. chosen to participate in the 2010 LIN Media Minority Scholar and Training Program.

Trombone major Li Kuang won the International Trombone Association Frank Smith Competition.

Falcon rugby players are the most successful college-affiliated rugby team in the Midwest during the past 25 years. The BGSU Rugby Football Club has won 28 consecutive Mid-American Conference championships and again finished among the top 10 U.S. collegiate rugby teams this year.

BGSU student-athletes received the Mid-American Conference Institutional Academic Achievement Award for the second time in three years.

BGSU's student chapters of the Association for Operations Management, American Marketing Association, Beta Alpha Psi, Delta Sigma Pi and Net Impact have received top national rankings.

BGSU's women's basketball competes in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and has won the most MAC Championships – 11 tournament championships since its admission into the MAC in 1981.

Adam Goldberg, a BGSU glassblowing student, received the Givens fellowship to study the ancient art of glassblowing in Japan. Paul Hemminger brought the concept of microfinance to Mombasa, Kenya, through his Givens fellowship.

Falcon athletes have an 84 percent graduation success rate.

Schmidthorst College of Business students launched a business called CSI (College Student Insights) to conduct research into college students' buying habits and behavior.

The Bowling Green State University Falcon Forensics, Speech and Debate Team was the 2010 National Team Overall Champion at the National Comprehensive Tournament (NCT).

Of more than 600 Mock Trial teams last year, BGSU finished 11th in the country at the national tournament, tying with Harvard and the University of California, Berkeley.
