Chloe Cox's Story

Chloe Cox is a senior studying social work and has been a McNair Scholar since her junior year at BGSU. Chloe works at a daycare and is passionate about working with kids and serving the community. Chloe completed her research on Critical Race Theory and worked with Dr. Janelle Sears, a professor in the Social Work department.

Chloe has stated that “being able to connect with the cohort, conduct research, and travel to conferences has been an unforgettable experience. The resources provided by the program, (graduate school preparation, resume building, budgeting, and developing presentation skills) are all things that I will take with me as I start my new journey.”

Chloe has taken advantage of the graduate school preparation process while in the McNair program by presenting her research two times over the past year. She will also be working to continue to develop her research over the summer before heading to graduate school. She recently accepted her admission into the University of Michigan for the Elementary Education program starting in the Summer of 2023.
