Get excited for Weeks of Welcome! Filled with events, activities and special guests, the BGSU Welcome Crew will kick off the festivities during move-in and won't stop until Fall Break! During this celebration, explore opportunities hosted by the campus community to create your ultimate BGSU experience.

Weeks of Welcome Events

Weeks of Welcome events are designed to help you connect and prepare for the fall semester.

New Students

  • Aug. 21-22 – If you are a residential student, there will be opportunities for you to get to know your neighbors each night after you move-in. If you are commuting to campus this fall, there will be special events hosted just for you starting on Aug. 22.
  • Aug. 22-24 – REQUIRED PROGRAMMING – Before the first day of classes, there will be a series of required programming and optional events for residential and commuter students designed to help you feel comfortable with campus, connect with new friends and explore resources to support your needs.

Returning Students

Weeks of Welcome is for new and returning students! From Aug. 22 through Oct. 4 you are invited to come to campus and design your ultimate BGSU experience. You have the choice to participate in a series of optional events and programs that interest you and designed to welcome everyone to campus!

Firelands Students

Weeks of Welcome events are hosted on Firelands campus too! Firelands is busy planning these events and they will be posted throughout the summer.

Featured Welcome Events

New Students Only
Required Programming

🚩 Your attendance is required at these events if this is the first year you are attending BGSU full-time. This includes transfer, commuting and international students. However, your attendance is excused if you have an approved absence.

Please note: Commuters and students who are living on campus will participate in separate events at 6 p.m. on Aug. 22.

University Orientation

New and transfer students are required to go through orientation virtually or in person before the first day of class.  

Log in to MyBGSU > Orientation Reservations to secure your spot.

New and Transfer Student Move-In: Aug. 21-22

Move-in Time Sign-up will take place between May 20-Aug. 1.
