Thank you for your interest in a Residence Life staff position at Bowling Green State University! BGSU is home to nearly 20,000 students, including nearly 6,000 students who live on campus.
Our office is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment that promotes students’ academic and personal success. To guide student-centered programs and services throughout the year, we focus on five priorities: academic success, safety and security, inclusivity, personal growth and engagement.
We employ 24 professional staff members in the areas of Housing Administration, Facilities, Budgeting, Marketing, Technology and Residence Education. All BGSU staff and positions play a critical role in student development and retention, making the on-campus living experience a critical piece of students’ college experience.

Our quaint downtown provides a picturesque and safe place for leisure activities, making BG the quintessential college town. Opportunities and a sense of vitality have increased during the last several years as downtown has been infused with significant investments in new restaurants, boutiques and specialty stores.

Graduate Leadership Coordinator
o The Graduate Leadership Coordinator (GLC) is directly supervised by the Coordinator for Leadership and Administration. This position assists in coordinating the various leadership efforts and programs for students offered by the Office of Residence Life including supporting the hall councils, co-advising the Resident Student Association and the National Residence Hall Honorary, and supporting administrative initiatives with the Coordinator for Leadership and Administration.
Graduate Residence Hall Director
Graduate Hall Directors (GHD) are a part of our live-in staff and assist in the daily operation of an undergraduate residence hall. GHDs assist in the supervision of student staff such as, Resident Advisors, Student Desk Managers and Desk Clerks; as well as the administration of hall-wide programming and crisis response.
Graduate Mentorship Coodinator
The Graduate Mentorship Coordinator is a live-off staff member in the Office of Residence Life. The Graduate Mentorship Coordinator assists in the daily operation of a Resident Success Mentor and SMART Programs that supports residential students to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals. The Graduate Mentorship Coordinator is supervised by the Coordinator for Diversity Initiatives. The Graduate Mentorship Coordinator directly supervises 10-15 Mentors and assists with hall-wide and campus wide programming, workshops, the design and development of the Generation Falcon summer link program, and/or Assessment and oversight of belonging and educational programming.

Residence Hall Director
Residence Hall Director (RHD) | The Residence Hall Director is a full-time, 12-month, live-in administrative staff position. The RHD is responsible for the daily operations of a residence hall housing between 300 to 1,000 students. This includes creating an inclusive, academically successful, safe and healthy residential community while providing intentional programming to assist with the psychosocial development needs of students, and infusing the learning outcomes of the University and Division of Student Affairs. In addition, RHDs must appropriately administer the operations of the residence hall, facilitate the student conduct process, and supervise respective part-time, graduate, and undergraduate staff.
