Bias Free Policing
The Bowling Green State University (BGSU) Police Department is committed to protecting the constitutional rights of all people and treating each person with respect and dignity. Contacting persons in a variety of situations is routine and germane to law enforcement activities. However, this agency will not accept or tolerate bias-based profiling. It is the policy of this agency to provide services and enforcement fairly and without discrimination toward any individual or group of people. Race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, ethnicity, cultural affiliation, age, disability, economic status, or affiliation with any other similar identifiable group shall not be used as the basis for providing law enforcement services or the enforcement of laws.
If you believe you were stopped by an officer based on your race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, ethnicity, cultural affiliation, age, disability, economic status, or affiliation with any other similar identifiable group, you are encouraged to fill out this form. Once a report has been submitted, the complainant(s) will be contacted and will be asked to meet with a police representative to provide additional information. While you may choose to submit a report anonymously, please understand that doing so may impact our ability to follow-up if limited information is available. If you wish to be contacted, please be sure to enter your information below.
Information on our complaint process can be found on the Compliment and Complaint page.
