Caryl Crane Youth Theatre presents Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Cats’

Caryl Crane Youth Theatre, in partnership with BGSU Firelands College, will present the internationally famed musical “Cats” through May 5 in the McBride Auditorium at BGSU Firelands College. “Cats” is the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and features 20 of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s timeless melodies, including the hit song “Memory.”

Based on T.S. Eliot’s “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats,” the musical is set at the annual reunion of the Jellicle cats at the Jellicle Ball. The eldest of this special breed, Old Deuteronomy, seeks to select which of the many cats in the neighborhood will be reborn to begin another life. Utilizing the Broadway National Tour costumes, “Cats” showcases the talents of 50 Erie County community young artists.

The performance is rated PG.

Performance are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday (May 3 and 4), and at 2 p.m. Sunday (May 5). Tickets are $6-$12 and are available by calling 419-626-1950 or ordering online at www.sanduskystate.com. “Cats” is sponsored by Bignoli Enterprises.
