Expand Your Horizons Fair embraces faculty, students
On Wednesday (Sept. 14), the University will hold its inaugural Expand Your Horizons Fair from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. The event is an opportunity not only for students but for faculty as well to discover possibilities for personal and professional growth and experiential teaching and learning.
Special workshops are planned for faculty, faculty and community partners, and faculty and students — along with the workshops specifically for students. Faculty can learn about using high-impact teaching practices as well as get information about the Fulbright Scholar program for faculty mentors. Topics include best practices in campus-community partnerships, public policy projects, and experiential learning.
The fair will feature representatives from International Programs and Partnerships/Education Abroad, the Center for Community and Civic Engagement, the Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship, the Career Center and Student Employment Services, and the Center of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education who will share information with visitors.
