BGSU honored with CASE award
BGSU was recognized this year with a prestigious 2016 CASE Sustained Excellence Award in Fundraising. The University was one of only three nationwide recognized in the Overall Improvement in the Public Research/Doctoral Institutions with Endowments Under $250 Million category. CASE, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, is one of the world's largest nonprofit educational associations and includes more than 3,670 colleges and universities, primary and secondary independent and international schools, and nonprofit organizations in more than 82 countries around the globe.
This national award is based on CASE judges’ analysis of three years of fundraising data that BGSU submitted to the Council for Aid to Education’s annual Voluntary Support of Education Survey. CASE’s Educational Fundraising program honors exemplary fundraising programs and activities.
According to CASE, “Bowling Green State University has not only demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism and best practice in its fundraising efforts, it has contributed to the betterment of educational advancement worldwide.”
In thanking donors for their support, Shea McGrew, vice president for University Advancement, noted that, with their help, BGSU is able to “raise scholarship funds for talented and deserving students, increase support for professorships, help our student-athletes succeed athletically and academically, evolve our campus to better prepare students for a global economy, recruit new students to the University, and foster public support of education.”
