Ramsdell elected to board of graduate enrollment professional association
Keith Ramsdell, director of graduate enrollment and assistant dean of the Graduate College, has been elected vice president of the 2015-16 executive committee of the governing board of NAGAP: The Leader in Graduate Enrollment Management. NAGAP is the only professional organization devoted exclusively to the concerns of individuals working in the graduate enrollment management environment.
Ramsdell will be installed for a two-year term along with other new officers at the organization’s annual meeting in April, to be held in Nashville.
One of his main goals as vice president is to “develop future leaders in graduate enrollment management by providing expanded opportunities for members to engage and network through committee and other volunteer service,” he said.
NAGAP membership provides an opportunity to network with professional colleagues at all sizes and types of institutions. The group is focused on “promoting excellence and collaboration through education, research, and professional development.”
For the past four years, Ramsdell has served on the NAGAP Board of Directors as professional development chair. His responsibilities included organizing three institutes a year: for newer professionals, advanced professionals, and for all members, the last on a topic of current interest to the field.
“Being involved in the leadership of these institutes has provided valuable professional development, and I’ve been able to bring the knowledge and experience gained from them back to BGSU,” Ramsdell said.
He also chaired the committee that rewrote the association’s by-laws, and has been a frequent presenter at conferences and other events.
Ramsdell joined the BGSU Graduate College two years ago after serving as director of graduate enrollment at Lourdes University for over eight years.
