The GM/Wayne State University Supply Chain Case Competition
The General Motors / Wayne State University Supply Chain Case Competition was held on Oct 8 - 11, 2015 at the Marriott Hotel in Detroit's Renaissance Center. BGSU had a team of four attend the GM/Wayne State Supply Chain Case Competition. Nineteen universities from all over the US as well as three international universities (China, Mexico, and Poland) participated in the competition. BGSU was represented by Paige Stichler, Trent Kaufman, Christian Craig, and Brooke Barnes, all of whom are part of the supply chain specialization. They prepared a fairly analytic case for four weeks before the competition that involved sourcing components for Cadillac and which was written by GM specifically for this competition. Our team ended up advancing the finals of the competition. While they did not win in the finals, they acquitted themselves admirably. Dr. Sawaya said he was proud of their analysis and presentation.
