Work by student filmmakers chosen for festivals
BOWLING GREEN, O.—Bowling Green State University student filmmakers will see their work on the big screen at two upcoming festivals.
The student showcase at the 49th Ann Arbor Film Festival will feature “Couch,” a film shot and edited by Aaron Brown, a senior from Pittsburgh majoring in theatre and film, and directed by Ryan Manning, a senior from Wintersville majoring in theatre and film. The non-competitive screening of regional student-made films is at 3 p.m. March 23 in the Main Auditorium of the Michigan Theater. Admission to the student showcase is free.
“Far from Asleep.” a film by Isaac Cohen, a senior from Sylvania majoring in theatre and film, was selected for the 18th annual NextFrame Student Film and Video Festival in the experimental division. The festival will go on a yearlong international tour visiting university campuses, museums, media art centers and independent theaters throughout the U.S. and around the world. NextFrame is run entirely by student filmmakers at Temple University’s film and media arts department.
