Collegiate Chorale to embark on annual spring tour
BOWLING GREEN, O.—Dr. Sandra Frey Stegman, associate professor of choral education, will lead Bowling Green State University’s Collegiate Chorale on its annual spring tour May 9-13 to venues in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.
The chorale will perform at Grass Lake United Methodist Church in Grass Lake, Mich. (449 E. Michigan Ave.); Bay High School in Bay Village, Ohio (29230 Wolf Road); Orchard Park Presbyterian Church in Orchard Park, N.Y. (4369 S. Buffalo St.); First English Lutheran Church in Butler, Pa. (241 N. Main St.), and Stebbins High School in Dayton, Ohio (1900 Harshman Road).
The group’s program will comprise sacred and secular works, including Alessandro Scarlatti’s “Exultate Deo,” selections from Eleanor Daley’s “Requiem,” Thomas Morley’s “Now Is the Month of Maying,” and George N. Allen’s “Precious Lord, Take My Hand.”
The Collegiate Chorale is the leading select mixed choir at BGSU’s College of Musical Arts. Consisting of up to 40 vocalists, primarily upperclassmen and graduate students, the ensemble studies and performs the finest of sacred choral literature and secular vocal chamber music. The group has toured throughout the United States, Canada and much of Europe and has performed several times with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra.
