Latta receives Outstanding Fundraising award
BOWLING GREEN, O.—Marcia Sloan Latta, interim vice president for advancement at Bowling Green State University, was named the 2009 Outstanding Fundraising Professional by the Northwest Ohio Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) at the annual National Philanthropy Day celebration recently.
Nominated by members of her staff, Latta was honored for her work as director of the $120-million “Building Dreams: The Centennial Campaign” at BGSU. The campaign culminated with more than $146 million raised—the largest fundraising effort in northwest Ohio history.
Latta, who received her Certified Fund Raising Executive designation in 1995, is active in the advancement profession. She has served as faculty chair for the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and as past president of the Northwest Ohio AFP. A frequent presenter on philanthropy, she has also received numerous awards, including three national Circle of Excellence Awards from CASE.
