Falcon Marching Band brings stadium sounds indoors

BOWLING GREEN, O.—Bowling Green State University’s Falcon Marching Band will present “Life Is a Highway,” its annual “Sounds of the Stadium” concert, at 3 p.m. Nov. 15 in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center.

Led by Dr. Carol Hayward, an assistant professor of music education, and Dr. Bruce Moss, director of band activities, the band will perform music from its halftime shows at this season’s Falcon football games.

Among the selections will be songs from Chicago, such as “25 or 6 to 4” and “Hard to Say I’m Sorry,” Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” and Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition,” among other well-known titles from metal bands, Motown artists and one-hit wonders.

One of the largest student organizations on campus, with 220 members, the band is composed of students from all colleges of the university and is open to all students by audition regardless of major and class standing.

Tickets are $7 for students and senior citizens and $10 for other adults in advance, and $10 and $13, respectively, on the day of the concert. For more information, call the box office between noon and 6 p.m. weekdays at 419-372-8171 or 1-800-589-2224.
