Dance Marathon has big year ‘for the kids'
BOWLING GREEN, O.—Students at Bowling Green State University gave patients at Toledo's
St. Vincent Mercy Children's Hospital and their families a little something to smile about over the weekend.
BGSU's Dance Marathon, Ohio's largest student-run philanthropic event, netted $192,251 for the Children's Miracle Network at the hospital—an increase of more than $36,000 from last year.
Dancing from 10 a.m. March 24 until 6 p.m. the following day in the BGSU Student Recreation Center, the roughly 500 participating students also boosted the total raised by the marathon in its 12-year history past the $1.8 million mark.
