The Center for Student Connections and Opportunity develops, coordinates, and sponsors a variety of education opportunities across campus, such as academic courses, trainings and workshops, and collaborative programming with campus partners.

Inclusion and Belonging 101
This introductory session provides participants with a general understanding of the various elements of inclusion and belonging, tips, and strategies for being more socially just.

Safe Zone
The Safe Zone Project at Bowling Green State University promotes awareness of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) people. This workshop series provides education concerning LGBTQ+ issues and seeks to improve the environment for LGBTQ+ people. The project's main goal is to build a support network of allies for BGSU's LGBTQ+ Community.

Gender and Sexuality 101
This facilitation provides an introduction to the broad spectrum of gender and sexuality.

Intercultural Development Inventory
The Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®) is the premier cross-cultural assessment of intercultural competence that is used by thousands of individuals and organizations to build intercultural competence to achieve international and domestic diversity and inclusion goals and outcomes.
Time needed for this session: Individual 1 hour; group 90 mins – 2 hours (not including the assessment time)
Because it is a licensed assessment, there is a small per-person fee associated with the IDI.
Allyship 101
Do you want to be a better ally but are unsure where to start? This facilitation provides basic social justice terminology, identity concepts, tips to correct misinformation, and the stages of allyship.

Unconscious Stereotypes
Sessions educate participants on the ways unconscious stereotypes and attitudes impact our understanding, actions, and decisions.
Time needed for this session: 90 mins - 2 hours
Inclusive Language
This session allows students to examine their self-awareness and learn how our use of everyday language can create a more accessible and inclusive environment.
Time needed for this session: 30-60mins
Intersectionality
This session is an overview of overlapping social identities in which create individuality. Students will examine which aspects of their identity are most important to them in order to understand aspects of identity, uniqueness, and belonging.

BGSU 1510: Multicultural Success Seminar
This course integrates academic success strategies with diversity, inclusion, curricular and co-curricular experiences to support a holistic approach toward the retention and persistence of diverse student populations. Emphasis on using the Appreciative Advising approach to build positive relationships, enhance self-discovery, set goals, design how to reach goals and to set the bar high for academic and personal success. The course creates opportunities for team building while embracing and benefiting from diversity, equity, and inclusion.
