Stephen Stephano

I'm Stephen Stephano. Originally from Strongsville, Ohio, I now reside in North Ridgeville, Ohio. I was a 2009 alumnus of BGSU, majoring in Business Administration. During my time at BGSU I was a member of the Honors Program and also involved with the Honors Student Association, Tuition Raffle, and the BGSU Men's Chorus. Today, I'm happily married to my wife Irene and have a 1-year old daughter Scarlett. I work in strategic purchasing and contract management for the MetroHealth System in Cleveland. I've always been involved in sports and athletics. Even today I am the commissioner of a golf league and I am also a 13-time marathon finisher. I am on the Honors Alumni Committee as I greatly enjoyed my time at BGSU and appreciated the support I received from the University and its alumni and want to help give the current generation of students that same support.

My career path and life are stable and prosperous now, but it took a while to get there. You can't give up. You'll get there if you work hard enough for it, even if you don't know exactly what you want. The Honors College provided a community of students and faculty that was truly tight knit and supportive. We went to class together, studied together, played video games together, etc. That's something you don't get just anywhere.

BGSU was the beginning of independent life, a world where anything was possible. I met some of my dearest friends and my first love within BGSU and Honors. These were people I would run through a wall for, even now to this day.
