Joseph C. Weger Family Honors Scholarship

Created in 2021, the Weger Honors Scholarship provides financial aid to students who are studying in new and emerging data and analytics fields.

To be eligible a student must be an undergraduate in the Honors College, with 3.5 minimum GPA, have completed 20 Honors credits, earning A’s or B’s in each class, and study data sciences, analytics or computational science discipline as defined by Honors College.

Preference to majors of computer science, software engineering, applied statistics and operations research, business analytics and intelligence, information systems or equivalent future majors. Preference given to students who are pursuing or on track to complete their Honors project. Students will also have to complete a 500-word essay regarding why they became interested in data science. Students will also need to have a plan for completing their Honors Project.

Typically, the scholarship committee awards one $1,000 scholarship per year.

The scholarship application will be available on AcademicWorks in fall and is due on October 30th.
