Alumni Spotlight: Erin Schwiebert, Advanced Learning and Development Consultant, Marathon Petroleum Company
Erin Schwiebert works as an advanced learning and development consultant at Marathon Petroleum Company LP (MPC) in Findlay, Ohio. Schwiebert is a two-time graduate of the Schmidthorst College of Business at Bowling Green State University and serves on the college’s Young Alumni Board, as well as the Findlay Community Diversity Equity and Inclusion Advisory Board, Findlay City Schools Diversity Equity and Belonging Committee, the Business Affiliates Board of the University of Findlay and the University of Findlay College of Business Advisory Board. She focuses her work efforts on course design, content development and program administration within the transport and rail function at MPC. Schwiebert started her MPC career in 2011.
In her previous functions at MPC, she focused her efforts on the talent acquisition, diversity, equity and inclusion and training programs functions at MPC. She is a passionate, lifelong learner and is an advocate of helping others continue to learn and develop their own skill sets. She passionately works to promote the message of diversity, equity and inclusion to employees, contractors, visitors and her community. Schwiebert travels to company locations coast to coast in the United States to perform this work.
This summer, Schwiebert was the keynote speaker for the Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD) organization's first in-person event of the season in Bowling Green where she shared why DEI trainings are critical to building a safe and equitable workplace for everyone. At the event, she also shared her experiences and insight into building a culture of belonging in an organization to extend the reach of her thought-leadership.
