Students “Sell” Their Way to National Sales Competition; Ludwig Finishes in the Top 12

BGSU has a long tradition of excellence when competing against the best sales talent in the country at the National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC).  The top two winners of the BGSU Sales Competition, Andrew Ludwig and Amy Wolf, competed at Kennesaw State University in Georgia April 7-10 and performed very well again this year.  In fact, Ludwig earned his way into the semifinal round and placed in the top 12 out of 147 students who competed for the national title.

Ludwig describes his experience.  “Competing at the National Collegiate Sales Competition has been an amazing experience. It was incredible to compete in the semifinals with the top 16 sales students in the country. I was impressed by the level of talent from all competitors.” 

He adds, “I have made connections with employers from across the country, and I am excited to continue building my network as I continue my college career. I strongly recommend that students who are interested in sales compete in competitions such as the BGSU Sales Competition or the National Collegiate Sales Competition.”

Although Wolf did not move onto the semifinals, she advanced her career opportunities by receiving a job offer at the end of the competition.  Wolf agrees with Ludwig on the great experience she had at the competition. “NCSC was a phenomenal experience. The connections that I was able to make will last a lifetime and the opportunities that present themselves at the competition are outstanding! Participating at NCSC was an experience that I will never forget and I encourage every student to get involved in the sales competition.

The BGSU sales coach is Ms. Christine Seiler, associate director of the Service Marketing Institute, who worked many hours preparing Ludwig and Wolf for national competition.

NCSC is the largest and oldest sales role-play competition and attracts talent from universities renown for top sales programs.
