BGSU College of Business Maintains Prestigious AACSB Business Accreditation
The College of Business at Bowling Green State University has maintained its business accreditation by AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.
Less than five percent of business schools worldwide earn this distinction placing the College among a very exclusive group. "Our College is one of the top business schools in the world, and it is important for students and alumni to recognize the value of their degree," said Ray Braun, dean of the College.
“It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB Accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and professional staff must make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.”
To achieve accreditation, an institution's business program is required to undergo a rigorous review and evaluation process. Colleges must satisfy 20 quality standards relating to faculty qualification, strategic management of resources, a commitment to continuous improvement, and achievement of learning goals within programs.
During the process, the College of Business was visited and evaluated by business school deans with substantial knowledge of business education and accreditation standards.
