LIEUTENANT COLONEL DOUGLAS A. "CLUTCH" BOYTIM
Lieutenant Colonel Douglas Boytim is the Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 620 headquartered at Bowling Green State University, Ohio. The Detachment trains and develops cadets to commission as Air Force officers who are ready to lead Airmen and meet our Nation's security challenges. The Detachment trains cadets from Bowling Green State University, University of Toledo, Ohio Northern University, University of Findlay, Heidlberg University, Tiffin University, and Lourdes University.
Lieutenant Colonel Boytim graduated from Bowling Green State University and received his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in August 2005. In October 2006, he received his Air Battle Manager (ABM) certification from the 325th Air Control Squadron, Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. He is a Senior ABM with 2,500 hours of operational flying and ground-based control experience on multiple weapon systems and positions to include the E-3B/C Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), Air Support Operations Center (ASOC), Air Liaison Officer (ALO), and Control and Reporting Center (CRC). Lt. Col. Boytim has multiple deployments to Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates as an AWACS and CRC ABM, a deployment to Kandahar, Afghanistan as an ALO, and the Director of Operations, 727th Expeditionary Air Control Squadron (EACS). As the Director of Operations for the 84th Radar Evaluation Squadron (RADES), he was responsible for supporting nine major radar evaluation and special purpose programs of over 240 air surveillance radar sensors valued at $11B, ensuring optimal air domain awareness for North American Aerospace Defense Command. Prior to his current position as Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Boytim served as the Commander for the 84th Radar Evaluation Squadron.
