Scholarships & Awards

Each spring, scholarships and awards are earned by Communication students, recognizing dedication and excellence within the field. Scholarships and awards are conferred each spring at the annual school and program honors ceremonies: This year the ceremony is scheduled for April 8, 2016. Many of these awards are made available through the generosity of our alumni and gifts to foundation accounts, including:

  • The School of Media and Communication Fund for Excellence Scholarship
  • RK Tucker Outstanding Communication Student
  • The Dr. Julie Burke Memorial Award
  • Forensics & Debate (Grant-in-Aid) Scholarships
  • The Martin L. Hanna Family Award in Public Speaking (Forensics)
  • The Howard L. Shine Memorial Foundation Award (Forensics)
  • Communication Rising Star Award
  • Communication Outstanding Junior Award
  • Communication Outstanding Senior Award
  • Women in Communications Award
  • We also honor Lambda Pi Eta inductees and Communication Student Ambassadors at this time.

Submission Deadline and Procedure

To apply, download and complete the application packet provided below. Submit all materials to 306 Kuhlin Center, School of Media and Communication office by Friday, February, 19th, 5pm. Call 419.372.8349419.372.8349  for more information or email Dr. Ramune Braziunaite ramune@bgsu.edu.
