BGSU aviation major Noah Pyle selected for American Airlines aviation internship Feb 21, 2020 3:01 PM Bowling Green State University aviation major Noah Pyle was selected for an internship with American Airlines at the company’s world headquarters in Dallas for Spring 2020. The internship, which began in January, is a six-month hands-on learning experience. As a flight operations Intern, Pyle’s work is geared toward pilots in training.

Flight Team Soars Dec 4, 2017 8:26 AM The BGSU Flight Team recently earned the Safety Award and made it into the top 10 in five out of nine events at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association Safety and Flight Evaluation Conference Region III competition. The team also had eight top 10 finishers.

They include a “family-like environment,” small class sizes, a brand new fleet of aircraft, an on-campus airport and a family connection to Amelia Earhart. Blaisdell’s great-great aunt was friends with Earhart, and family artifacts prove it.

Flying high Nov 7, 2016 7:00 AM Aviation student Bryan Bills was honored earlier this year at the Military Appreciation football game. During the presentation, Bills shared a football signed by Ohio National Guard soldiers while in Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan and Afghanistan. The football was part of a care package sent to Bills while he was deployed in Afghanistan.

That may be how Jaiteh, Class of 2017, arrived at Bowling Green from Gambia, Africa, but the individual attention he’s received from faculty and many leadership opportunities on campus are what has kept him at BGSU.

Air Superiority Jun 6, 2016 7:00 AM The Bowling Green Flight Center added five new aircraft, all Piper Warriors, for BGSU Aviation students to pilot. Three of the Warriors are brand-new models purchased directly from the manufacturer, Piper Aircraft. The BG Flight Center also purchased a 2006 model and a 2002 model and completely refurbished them from tip to tail.

Falcon Fighter Pilot Jan 11, 2016 7:00 AM Becky Ohm ‘95 and her husband own a coffee shop within a 15-minute car ride north of Bowling Green State University’s campus, but it’s within a “blink of an eye” when flying in an F-16 Falcon. Ohm should know, she was a fighter pilot for 14 years.
