Fire Safety Inspector – Hybrid Online/Face-to-Face format

Description
For qualified firefighters who wish to complete their fire safety inspector certification with a combination of concentrated class work and online learning. 

REGISTER BY March 17. This class has been approved by the ODPS/Fire Training Committee to be delivered in this format at BGSU. The online section of the class will be taught March 24 - May 11 and the in-class portion is taught at BGSU during the week of May 12-16. You must successfully complete the online course work in order to progress to the in-class section. The State exam will be available in the afternoon of Friday, May 16.

Special Requirements
OAC 4765-11-14: Each student shall be certified as a firefighter under section 4765.55 of the Revised Code. Each student shall be employed by one of the following: A firefighting agency as defined in division (A)(5) of section 9.60 of the Revised Code; A private firefighting company as defined in division (A)(5) of section 9.60 of the Revised Code that is providing fire protection in accordance with division (B), (C), or (D) of section 9.60 of the Revised Code.  

Required Textbook
You must purchase and bring IFSTA Fire Inspection & Code Enforcement–8th Edition & Exam Prep.  The books can be purchased through www.osufpp.org, John D. Pruer & Associates at 1.800.253.8183 or www.ifsta.org   

Student are REQUIRED to turn in completed Exam Prep book on 1st day of class ~ Monday, May 12th. 

Students will also need a copy of the current Ohio Fire Code
