Joseph Chao, Ph.D., Director of Agile Software Factory, Department of Computer Science
Because of my industrial background in computer software development and my research interest in Agile Software methodology, I started the Agile Software Factory at Bowling Green State University in Fall 2008 . The main purpose of the Agile Software Factory is to provide software services to community partners in need of software development and to offer hands-on service-learning opportunities to students in the BGSU Computer Science program. The Factory also promotes faculty and student research in the areas of Agile Software Development. Students working with me at the Factory will be conducting research and development of a real-world software project. The projects could range from a web site or a desktop business system development to the research and development of a software tool. Currently, the Factory has twelve concurrent projects at various stages under development by both graduate and undergraduate students.
