The Blakemore Foundation 2016 Language Grants

Blakemore Freeman Fellowships are awarded for one academic year of full-time, intensive language study at the advanced level in East or Southeast Asia in approved language programs. For grants to be awarded in 2016, study must start between June 2016 and May 2017.

American Australian Association Fellowships

The American Australian Association awards Fellowships each year to Australians and Americans for advanced research and study in the United States and Australia respectively. The Fellowships build on existing strong social and economic partnerships and foster intellectual exchange between the United States and Australia.  To date, over 200 Fellows have received awards totaling over US$5 million to pursue studies in critical fields - from key medical research to sustainability - at top institutions such as MIT, Harvard and Princeton.

Mariam K. Chamberlain Fellowship in Women and Public Policy

In honor of pioneering feminist economist Mariam K. Chamberlain (MKC), IWPR offers a fellowship in public policy to a promising scholar each year. The Mariam K. Chamberlain Fellow contributes to a variety of research projects to inform policies affecting women. To apply, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in social science.

Research areas for 2016-2017:                                                                        

- The quality of women¹s jobs, including wages, paid sick leave, paid family leave, and workplace flexibility.

Joint Program in Survey Methodology Junior Fellow Program

The JPSM junior fellow program enables students to work as an intern in a Federal statistical agency while being enrolled in a seminar to introduce students to how large scale surveys are designed, collected, and analyzed.

Urban Fellows Program

The Urban Fellows Program is designed to introduce college students and graduates to local government and public service through a nine-month fellowship that combines work in Mayoral offices and City agencies with an intensive seminar series.

Princess Grace Awards Program

The Princess Grace Awards Program recognizes the talent of individual artists in theater, dance, and film. The scholarships, apprenticeships, and fellowships give emerging artists the financial assistance and encouragement to focus on artistic excellence. All applicants must seek a nomination from a 501(c)(3) organization. 

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Summer Student Fellowship

Fellows work on a research project under the supervision of a mentor in the ocean sciences or marine policy. Fellows receive housing and a stipend. 

Washington Center Internships

The Washington Center offers a wide range of internships for students in Washington, D.C. and abroad. Internships are for academic credit and do not include a stipend. 

USAID Donald M. Payne International Development Fellowship

The Payne Fellowship Program provides benefits over two years toward a two-year master's degree, internships on Capitol Hill and at USAID missions overseas, and provides professional development and support activities. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. 

UNCF/Merck Undergraduate Science Research Scholarship

The UNCF/Merck Science Research Initiative awards scholarships up to $30,000 to students to participate in a 10-12 week summer research internship with a Merck scientist. Students must be an African American U.S. Citizen or permanent resident to apply.
