The Task Force on the Gish Film Theater

I am pleased to share the report from the Task Force on the Gish Film Theater addressing the naming of the Dorothy and Lillian Gish Film Theater. I am reviewing the report and considering its recommendations while also discussing and sharing the task force's work with our various constituencies. Following those conversations, I will share my recommendations with our broader University community.

I appreciate the time and effort that the task force members put in over the past six weeks. I thank them for their work. Led by Raymond Craig, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, the task force carefully researched and discussed the issues and considered the comments and letters from a large number of individuals and groups offering a wide array of opinions and positions.

Building a just learning community requires effort and commitment by each of us. I'm proud of the way our community has come together to discuss and explore these issues in a thoughtful and respectful way.
