Life Design at BGSU: Inside the Geoffrey H. Radbill Center for College and Life Design
The recent opening of the Geoffrey H. Radbill Center for College and Life Design marks a significant milestone in the growth and evolution of Life Design at BGSU. The center is now a prominent fixture in the heart of campus that centralizes Life Design resources and services, allowing for additional programming and engagement among students, faculty and staff.
The Radbill Center’s newly renovated space on the third floor of the Mathematical Sciences Building in the heart of campus is designed to be inclusive, collaborative and welcoming to the entire campus community. As part of the renovations, a refreshed south façade and second-floor entrance promotes new and existing functions within the Mathematical Sciences Building.
The Radbill Center provides students with a welcoming and collaborative space to meet with Life Design coaches or gather between classes. BGSU is the first university in the country to build a life design program of this magnitude available to all undergraduate students and has drawn the attention of university administrators and educators nationwide.
Life Design coaches teach BGSU 1910: Life Design at BGSU, a first-year seminar that introduces students to design thinking principles through engaging, hands-on activities. Outside of class, these coaches meet with students individually and support them as they navigate all aspects of their undergraduate journey.
Adrienne Ausdenmoore, executive director of the Radbill Center, seen here chatting with a student, is a core member of the global life design community. She serves as an advisor and coach for Stanford’s Life Design Studio for University Educators, contributes to the Studio Equity and Inclusion working group and is a member of the Studio Advisory Board.
Assistant Director Gabe Dunbar meets with graduate students. Dunbar came to BGSU in 2017 to work with post-traditional and military students before transitioning to Life Design in the fall of 2020.
