Attend the Black Swamp Arts Festival

Experience three days of concerts and fine art at the award-winning Black Swamp Arts Festival on Sept. 8-10 in downtown Bowling Green. A long-standing mainstay in the Bowling Green community, BGSU students, faculty and staff are deeply involved – from employees on the organizing committee to students, faculty and staff performing, exhibiting and volunteering to make the annual event a success.

Show your support by attending Ohio’s largest free art and music festival. See the work of hundreds of fine artists, hear amazing musicians, get creative in the Youth Arts Village and enjoy art competitions.

The Falcon Samba Bateria ensemble made a big splash in 2022 and is back this year to perform the exciting music of Brazil, focusing on the large drum groups that are the engines of Brazilian street parades and festivals. The ensemble will perform on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 12:30 p.m. on the Family Stage and again at 2:30 p.m. on the Community Stage.
The Youth Arts Area is a favorite among BGSU student volunteers.
Many BGSU students volunteer at the festival, with fraternities, sororities and other student organizations encouraging members to add service hours. Examples include ROTC cadets who guard the artists’ tents overnight and Falcon Athletics teams that volunteer in various areas at the festival. The Youth Arts Village is a favorite among student volunteers.
