BGSU to celebrate one university, countless experiences during 2024 Homecoming festivities

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Celebrating one university with countless experiences, Bowling Green State University invites alumni, families and members of the learning and greater community to enjoy its four-day Homecoming festivities from Sept. 26-29, featuring multiple activities, events and performances.

Underscoring BGSU's ranking as the No. 1 public university in Ohio for the student experience, this year's Homecoming will combine long-standing favorites and traditions with new events, including a pre-game concert with country music star Phil Vassar featuring the Falcon Marching Band, the second largest collegiate band in the nation.

An award-winning artist and songwriter, Vassar has amassed an impressive lineup of accolades, including 10 No. 1 singles and 27 Top 40 country music hits. Known for writing hit songs for legends like Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw and Jo Dee Messina, Vassar's performance promises to be a highlight of the 2024 BGSU Homecoming weekend.

Other experiences planned for BGSU Homecoming include:

As part of Homecoming, the community is also invited to help BGSU support the Thompson Working Families Scholarship Program through Falcons Give Back from Sept. 20-30. Established by alumni Robert ’55, ’06 (Hon.) and Ellen (Bowen) ’54, ’06 (Hon.), the unique scholarship program is half-funded by the Thompson Foundation and requires a dollar-for-dollar match from BGSU and private donors. No matter the amount, all gifts will create public good by removing barriers to a comprehensive education for deserving students.
