BGSU students performing public good as part of BGSU 1910 course
Students were encouraged to use Life Design instruction to create project ideas to benefit the public
Bowling Green State University students are bringing public good to the forefront with proposals that aim to make their communities better as part of a project for BGSU 1910: Life Design at BGSU.
The Serving the Public Good – Project Gala will feature students from 18 sections of BGSU 1910 who will present their posters from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 101 Olscamp Hall. Students, who will present in teams, were encouraged to use Life Design instruction to conceptualize an idea that would benefit the public as part of their proposals.
"At BGSU, we introduce Life Design as a tool to support our students to design their college experience," said BGSU Design Coach Xidan Liang. "Through design thinking, we encourage our students to discover their roles in society, empathize with people in their communities and develop solutions to challenges in their world. Life Design at BGSU can also empower students to envision the impact their college experiences will have on the public good. This gala is just a beginning."
