Thomson family has a lot of love and spirit for BGSU
College of Musical Arts student is one of 12 Falcons

As Bowling Green State University students, alumni, community members and fans, we all have Falcon spirit. Through the years, we have seen changes to the campus scene, out teams have won MAC championships and BGSU alumni have changed the world. Although much has changed, one thing has stayed true: the devotion and spirit for our alma mater.
Many students enroll at BGSU because their family members are alumni and influence their decisions, but do you have 12 alumni in your family? Fourth-year student Helen Thomson knows what it feels like.
Thomson of Delaware, Ohio, is studying music education and vocal performance within the College of Musical Arts. She was influenced to attend BGSU by her brother, Clay Thomson ’14, who also majored in music education and acted as a source of guidance throughout her years at BGSU. Thomson did not find her home in BGSU until after visiting her brother and the campus.
The Thomson family’s love and spirit for BGSU spans more than 35 years. Members of the family have earned degrees from many different colleges, including the College of Musical Arts, College of Education and Human Development, College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Business.
The Thomson family of alumni include:
- Tom Wright ’84
- Cheryl Thomson Wright ’85
- Henry “Chip" Thomson ’88
- Margaret Oliver Thomson ’88
- Lucy Oliver Babcock ’92
- Bobby Oliver ’97
- Hunter Wright ’12
