FOX Sports Media executive to speak

BOWLING GREEN, O. —A FOX Sports executive will discuss sport media and sport management during  “A Conversation with Ed Goren” on Wednesday (April 25) at Bowling Green State University. Goren, who is vice chairman of FOX Sports Media Group, will begin his talk at 7 p.m. in 113 Olscamp Hall.

A 48-time Emmy Award winner and executive producer of FOX Sports since 1994, Goren is one of the executives responsible for the look, sound, editorial content and quality of FOX Sports studio and game broadcasts.  He also oversees all aspects of FOX Sports’ television investments and partnerships. In addition, he spearheads the division’s strategy of pursuing major event programming to insure FOX Sports’ position as a premier network sports broadcaster. Previously he was a senior producer at CBS Sports where he broadcasted such major events as the World Series, NCAA Basketball Tournament, The Masters and Super Bowl XXVI.

“A Conversation with Ed Goren” is presented as part of the Richard A. Maxwell Sport Media Project. Maxwell, a 1970 BGSU graduate, is the retired NFL senior director of broadcasting.  He has returned to campus on numerous occasions to work with students in sports journalism and sport management.  He initiated “A Conversation With …” in 2011, inviting top-level sports professionals to talk with the BGSU and Bowling Green communities.

The event is presented by the BGSU School of Human Movement, Sport and Leisure Studies’ Sport Management Program, the College of Education and Human Development, the School of Media and Communication, and the College of Arts and Sciences.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Both Goren and Maxwell will be available for one-on-one talks with media representatives from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday in 113 Olscamp Hall (before a reception in their honor in Bowen-Thompson Student Union).
