Circus comes to BGSU tonight
Bowling Green State University’s Arts Extravaganza (ArtsX) is going to be a circus—and much more—from 6-10 p.m. tonight (Dec. 4) at the campus Fine Arts Center.
Visitors can get a taste of the big top courtesy of Circus Vera, a troupe from BGSU’s Arts Village that was formed by Logan Jacot, a Bowling Green sophomore and former circus performer. Circus Vera will perform shortly after 6 p.m., either outside the main entrance or, depending on the weather, near the glass area inside.
Also lighting up the night will be the BGSU Sculpture Club, which will fire up an outdoor metal pour demonstration from 7:30-8 p.m. behind the sculpture lab.
Inside the building, other students and faculty from the School of Art, as well as the Department of Theatre and Film and the College of Musical Arts, will present numerous performances, demonstrations and exhibits spotlighting campus arts programs—a designated BGSU center of excellence.
Clubs and organizations, from the Clay Club to the University Film Organization, will be hosting activities throughout the building. Among them: the Comics and Cartooning Club, welcoming visitors to do “Collaborative Doodling” across from Room 2006, and the Student Art Glass Association, hosting glass-blowing demonstrations all evening in rooms 1200 and 1206.
