BGSU musicians appear at OMEA conference
BOWLING GREEN, O.—Faculty and ensembles from Bowling Green State University's College of Musical Arts are scheduled to appear this week (Feb. 7-9) at the 2008 Ohio Music Education Association Professional Development Conference in Cincinnati.
The University Men's Chorus, under the direction of Dr. William Skoog, associate professor of music performance, will perform at 5 p.m. on the first evening of the conference in the Hyatt Regency Hotel Ballroom. The chorus has appeared at a number of OMEA conferences in the past.
Dr. Mark Munson, an associate professor of music education, and his wife, Paula, will present a session titled “Bon Voyage! Living and Working Abroad through a Teacher Exchange Program.” They will discuss international faculty exchange programs and how teaching abroad for a year can be an enriching experience. The session is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday (Feb. 8) in Room 251 of the Duke Energy Center (Cincinnati Convention Center).
BGSU's Trombone Choir, directed by Dr. William Mathis, an associate professor and chair of music performance, is appearing for the first time at an OMEA conference. The ensemble will perform at 12:15 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 9) in the Junior Ballroom at the Duke Energy Center.
