Photochemist named fellow of society
BOWLING GREEN, O.—Dr. Douglas C. Neckers, the McMaster Distinguished Research Fellow and executive director of the Center for Photochemical Sciences at Bowling Green State University, has been elected a Fellow of the Inter-American Photochemical Society.
The I-APS, which was established in 1975, promotes and disseminates knowledge and encourages the development of photochemistry and allied subjects through the Americas.
Neckers was elected in recognition of his significant contributions to the photochemical field and his long-standing service to the photochemical community. He has done extensive research on the mechanism(s) of photoinitiation of polymerization and has been a leader using it in commercially successful applications of the science.
