Creative efforts earn multiple Crystal Awards
BOWLING GREEN, O.—The work of Bowling Green State University staff in the Office of Marketing & Communications, the College of Arts & Sciences and the Office of Alumni & Development was recognized last week (Nov. 14) at the annual Crystal Awards program in Toledo.
Sponsored by the Toledo Professional Chapter of the Association for Women in Communications, the awards program honors achievements in the communications profession.
BGSU won two Crystals in the photography division: one for a picture of the Sebo Athletic Center by Director of Photography Craig Bell in the news/single feature subcategory, and the other in the news/feature series subcategory for photos of BGSU students on a service-learning trip to the Navajo Nation by photographer Brad Phalin. Phalin's pictures were published in BGSU Magazine.
Crystals Awards in design went to Marketing & Communications for a BGSU football poster, a BGSU Magazine series, and the BGSU Foundation 2006-07 Annual Report. The office also received an Award of Merit for a Center for Multicultural and Academic Initiatives brochure.
In the interactive/audiovisual category, the BGSU College of Arts & Sciences was recognized with Awards of Merit for an informational video and a production for the 2006 Alumni Awards, as well as a Crystal Award for a Family Campaign DVD.
A progressive dinner and Spotlight on the Arts event with the Presidents Club garnered an Award of Merit for the Office of Alumni & Development.
