National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (Add Health)
Family Structure Snapshot
Waves 1, 2, and 3 of the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (Add Health) provide a wide range of measures related to family structure, including current living arrangement and relationship, relationship history, and family background. For instance, information on adolescents’ (or young adults’) relationship to individuals living in the same household, presence of a parent or a parent figure, experience of premarital cohabitation, adoption, and contact with non-resident biological parents is available.
