This site is specially dedicated to our mascot and to pay tribute to their endless BGSU Falcon spirit.

Request the Mascots:
Please email (thebirds@bgsu.edu) Frieda and Freddie to request their presence at an event or experience. Typically, requests must be made two weeks prior to the scheduled event. Freddie and Frieda are only able to stay at events for up to one hour, beyond that time frame, the continued presence is at the discretion of the birds and they may require breaks.
Please include the following information in your email information about the event:
- Name of the event
- Description of event
- Organization planning event
- Location/address of event
- Date of event
- Time requested for the mascots to be present
- Are you requesting both Freddie and Frieda, Frieda, or Freddie
To help pay for travel expenses, there is a cost for off-campus and non-university events: Private Events (i.e. weddings and for profit events) are $100 per mascot plus mileage and Non-Profit Community Events are $50 per mascot plus mileage.

What is a breakroom?
Freddie & Frieda will need to take a break depending on the duration of the event. A private breakroom to where we will not be seen/heard is needed. If windows, there will need to be blinds. It is also preferred that the door locks. We also love Air-Conditioned rooms, but that is not a requirement.
Do Freddie & Frieda have different outfits?
Yes! Depending on the type of event you are having, we may have an outfit to match. We have formal wear for weddings and as always, a few different types of BGSU spirit wear. If you are putting on an event and have a specific t-shirt you would like us to wear, we would be happy to! Our shirt size is 2XL.
How early out should I book my event?
We prefer request arrive at least 2 weeks prior to the event. As you can imagine our schedules are a little busy, so we need some time to work things out to make all our events happen. Please also remember that the mascot switch happens in the spring, so we will have to wait for the next set of birds to arrive before confirming some events.
What are the names of the students who will be the mascots at my event?
Freddie and Frieda's identities remain a secret until our reveal in the spring. This means, we are sworn not to share anything about our lives outside of the mascot suit. We take secrecy very seriously, so you can refer to us simply as Freddie and Frieda!
