Thank you for your interest in the Student Ambassador program. We are thrilled that you share our passion for the Schmidthorst College of Business, and we are excited you want to join us.
From Freshman Welcome to Senior Awards, the Ambassadors play a hand in Schmidthorst events that ultimately enhance each student's BGSU experience. Your involvement provides benefits beyond university life—you will also expand your network, develop professional skills, and make lifelong friends.

2024-2025 applications will open October 1 and close at 11:59 PM October 31, 2024.
To join the Student Ambassador program, you must complete and submit the application available on this page. Applications are reviewed by current Student Ambassadors and all applicants will be notified of their decisions via email on December 1st. Requirements for applying are listed below.
Chosen students will be enrolled in an 8-week spring course (BA 2010) to prepare them for the Ambassador program.
To apply, follow these steps:

- Fill out the application completely
- Attach current copy of your resume and your most recent school transcript
• First-Year Students: Attach a copy of your High School transcript
• All Other BGSU Students: Attach a copy of your Unofficial Transcript from your MyBGSU Account
- Hit "Submit"
All applicants will be contacted by December 1st via email, notifying whether they have been accepted or not into the program. You must email the Student Ambassadors (cobambassadors@bgsu.edu) by December 6th to accept and confirm your position. Please read all parts of the "Overview" listed below on this webpage to understand the expectations of a Student Ambassador.
- Be pursuing Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor’s in Economics, or Minor in the College of Business
- Participate in the Student Ambassador training class, BA 2010, taken in Spring 2024
- Have at least two semesters left after completing BA 2010
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Successful Student Ambassador applicants will demonstrate the following:
- Conscientiousness
- Proactivity
- Integrity
- Leadership
- Hospitable
- Professionalism
- Accepted students will be automatically enrolled in BA 2010 in the spring semester.
- Typically, the class is held in the evening; dates and times will be shared closer to the start of the semseter.
- BA 2010 is a one credit hour class that prepares these students to be great Student Ambassadors.
- Students will learn valuable skills such as how to present and network well.
